My only complaint with cfe is its temp sensitive if youre stretching on out past 300yds. I get about 60fos swing from freezing to 100*. Its clean and meters awesome on my dillon so Ill continue to use it. Just keep your velocity in mind if youre shooting on out there.

I picked up some kegs of this from Hodgdon (SMP tags) with my last order, it is a nice powder.
Meters well and fills the case nicely but it does dust a bit out of my slide bar. Velocity isn't as good as 2230/2460/2520 with 55g bullets, haven't worked it up in 62s yet. Accuracy in the same league of those powders.

Does pull back a tad on the powder probe to, which I expect a little from a non-ball powder.

    Overall, a good backup powder.

Temperature dependence seems to be its big downfall. I've heard a lot of people complain about it over IMR8208 for precision rounds. I still like it though.

I picked up well over 100fps by switching to XBR in my 223 trainer, havent temp tested the XBR load though. I believe CFE is destined to be a decent backup powder for me if XBR passes the dillon metering test and is less temp sensitive than CFE.

    I'm still using CFE223.
    Liking my results.
I haven't swabbed my barrel in over a year.
It's as clean as a whistle.
    That's worth something to me.

BCG hasn't been tended to in 6 months or so.
    No failure of any kind.

I ,myself, suffer from temperature variations more than the cartridges do. Heh
