Back in the mid-90's I had bought three ceramic stones from Brownells. They are the 6x1/2x1/2 medium, fine, and extra fine stones.
I used them very little and put them away, until now.
I had them out the other day to smooth out the trigger on my rifle. One thing I hadn't noticed way back when is that the surface on the stones is not consistent. I can feel that the surface of the stones is uneven as I move the part along the stones.
So, my question is this, is there a source of similar stones that are more consistent that I should be looking at?
It doesn't seem to me that my current stones are ideal for trigger work.
    Thanks in advance,

I appreciate the feedback. For the amount of stoning I do I'm not going to try reshaping these stones.
I will replace them though if I run across better stones.
    Thanks again guys.
How much stoning do you do? Enough to you say you are a stoner?

Depends on how much flattening. For my japanese stones I use pieces of the gray wet/dry abrasive paper spray glued to an old thick glass table shelf to get them flat. You could try that.
