Heard on the news today that Walmart is going from $12 to $14 minimum wage. Walmart is pushing back against the casinos stealing their workers? The McDs at Potranco & 1604 SATX has a sign saying they start at $14. This country's economy has gone crazy.

If they build casinos in Texas, the money will still leave the state. Those casinos won't be Texas corporations. The low wage workers aren't going to contribute much either but maybe a little in sales tax from their purchases. If the state gets a share of revenue and puts it to the schools, the schools all of a sudden will be more expensive for the same level of benefit. Teachers unions will find a way to get most of it.

As long as you are gambling, they will provide comps for food, drinks, hotel rooms. What ever it takes to keep the money flowing!
Paying for the buffet is cheaper than earning comps.

Those free drinks are about as free as the Covid vaccinations.
It shouldn't take long to learn the casinos aren't in business to lose money. The free drinks and food have a high price for the patrons.
Hopefully, NOT in Tx. Just a bunch of rich guys wanting to make more $$$. Like the new proposed 'disney world' in Frisco. Or the flubbed one in Sachse. But you will get to see all the seniors on SS there. And a bunch of over-the-hill entertainers.
I thought all the over the hill B listers were in Branson MO
