I've got a USAA Visa that is 2.5% on everything. If you have access to USAA check their current offers.
That is pretty amazing.

Citi double cash. 2% back on everything. 1% when you buy and 1% when you pay. I pay it off each month, so I get the 1% for purchases this month and the 1% for the payment for last months purchases.
Chase has one that pays 5% on Amazon purchases, helps with wives' Amazon addictions
Yeah I have that one too (Chase Freedom). The other one is called the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature CardMine pays 5% at certain places which changes quarterly.
Unfortunately some of them are places I never visit or spend money, lol...
This thread reminds me of people asking which casinos pay out the best.

One of my old pals uses a Sams credit card and swears he gets five percent back on everything...but then he lies a lot.I'm going to spend the money anyway so I may as well get a small reward for it.
No annual fee is nearly a must. It's probably been 25yrs since I had an AmEx or any other card that charged a fee.
What card do you use and what rewards do they give?
Credit card free for 27 years and I feel Good!
Am I missing something? This thread reminds me of people asking which casinos pay out the best.
Am I missing something?
1. I buy or pay for things on my rewards card(s)
2. I pay the entire statement balance each month
3. I get 1% to 5% of my money back in cash.
- or -
1. I buy or pay for things with cash/debit/cashiers check
2. There is no #2.
It's basically just another discount. I make use of other rewards programs as much as possible, so I'll often end up with a total discount between 2% and 10%.
Yes, you're missing the part about how some people don't have the discipline to only charge what they know they can pay off each month. 1% - 5% rewards are useless if you carry a balance at 20% interest.
If you pay off the balance in full each month, then yes, it's just free money.
You have to spend a lot to get so little. I choose to invest and make way more than any card will pay.I understand what you are saying, but, why pass up free money?

But if the money will be spent anyway, why not get money back? I don't know about you, but I like to eat multiple times a day, so I tend to go to the grocery store on a weekly basis. Why would I not want money back from that? Or at the gas station since I prefer to drive rather than walk?
