wayment... You consider those dried out "strips" to be fried chicken? All these years I thought you were alright.

DQ doesn't have fried chicken, but it is nice they provides the correct dipping sauce for their strips; gravy.

Didn’t know DQ had chicken strips, if it wasn’t a beltbuster, then steak fingers were the only other hot food I ordered there. Never had the tacos, either.

Bush’s and Bill Miller’s both do gravy w/tenders.

Meh…their BBQ is not bad IMO, just not as good as some of the others I prefer.

Their breakfast tacos are okay, especially if you get their potatoes. They are seasoned well.
Their "bbq" is boiled roast with some bbq sauce on it.

All this talk got me. Had Popeye's last night. 2 can dine for $9.99. Spicy 5-piece with 2 individual sides and 2 biscuits. Not a bad deal. It was good.
haha yeah I was getting pretty hungry reading this thread late last night... Think the wife and I will do either Popeyes or Golden Chick for dinner. If Popeyes hadn't discontinued their dirty rice it wouldn't even be a question witch one.

It's hard to beat Popeyes for fast food. Golden Chick is pretty good, too.

Since you're in Austin, you need to check out the chicken at Gus's, Lucy's, and Top Notch.
I haven't had Popeye's in a long time but it was my favorite of the chain fried chicken. I ate a shit ton of the red beans & rice and biscuits in college too.

ETA: T-22 in Austin has good fried chicken too

I used to eat chicken every day for lunch at a Chinese buffet located at the Gulf Freeway and Monroe.

Up until Marvin Zindler busted em. He had footage of a kitchen worker retrieved a chicken thrown into the trash dumpster out back

    Out here by the lake!
Y’all who are grocery store fried chicken fans would stop eating it if you seen what I witnessed for all them years in grocery stores.

When the perishable load came in meat department & hot deli loads were combined together, on a pallet. Pallets off trucks can be taller then will fight into coolers.

A pallet would be broken down by the meat department because the delis are staffed with fast food peons. I have seen in every store I ever worked the deli loads sitting in the back room 12 hours in 100 temps. I’m talking raw chicken both fried & rotisserie, deli meats & cheeses, all those Salads in their cases.

I often figure the employees in most fast food joints are the same bus ridding idiots. I can honestly say fast foods were jobs are were high school kids start, not a lifetime career.

The Silver House Chinese buffet, years ago, wonder if it is still there east of downtown Houston.... You could see them chopping up chicken, they do it on the floor.

Biggest buffet lunch place ever - two huge dining rooms. Ahhh memories.
