I've bought a few things like ar charging handles and other parts from km tactical a year or so ago. After receiving a few ad emails, I realized they are one of those companies selling "solvent trap" adapters. Which are probably what he got investigated for. They are "adapters" that allow you to thread filters on the end of a barrel. As actual gun guys, we all know how ridiculous it would be to hang a diesel filter off the end of a gun to silence it. A gun without proper sights is virtually useless.

But I guess it is a thing. A coworker of mine liked their cheap ambi charging handles but got pissed when he kept receiving "solvent trap" emails after buying a couple.

There is definitely a big brother aspect too. My android phone puts ads on the shop computer that came directly from my personal phone. You can literally say cat food, cat feed, cat toys around your phone and within less than a day youll start getting ads for cat stuff even if you never had one. Big brother is listening, no doubt.

Thanks for posting that. I sent it to my son - his hobby is rebuilding diesel trucks too (much like the guy in the video). My son may already know about that kind of thing but in case he doesn’t, it’ll be good for him to know!

In this day and age, I just assume the government knows everything about the business I conduct and products I buy over the Internet. To assume you’ve got ANY “privacy” left is just sheer folly. If you expect any degree of privacy, everything has to be done, figuratively and literally, “off grid”- no electronic footsteps left behind whatsoever. And the more common surveillance cameras become, the more difficult even that is, to accomplish.

I've wondered when I'm going to get the knock. I work on diesel trucks too, and play around with these filters. One thing I've been into is vegetable oil conversions. Which means you need a bigger fuel filter. Which is exactly what a lot of these suppressor kits are sold as.

One of the real crappy things is that, according to what I've heard other people say, these sellers don't just send you the drill-one-hole-for-a-suppressor kit, they often send ALL the parts of the suppressor even though they are not pictured. So if you order from the wrong company and get unlucky, they mail you an illegal untaxed suppressor right to your door, with all the parts in one container.

I'm planning to use one of these filter sets (one of the kits that requires drilling) to legally make a title 1 suppressor, but I'm careful to make sure I don't have all the parts to build a functional suppressor (not that it takes much care to just not drill a hole in the cap). It could really suck for people who want to screw with car stuff and don't know about guns, and happen to get the wrong combination of parts though.

My neighbors were watching TV one night and something came on about an Alexa. The wife asked her husband, "Do you think Alexa is always listening to us?" and the Alexa said, "Yes, {her first name}, I'm listening to you." Ever take a look for something on the internet - say a battery - and for the next month you see battery ads in the edges of every site you visit?

I think it's safe to say Big Brother is listening, since everybody else is doing it.

I phones are doing this as well. I’m the most non conspiracy theory guy I know and my wife and I have seen multiple things that point to this. Don’t kid yourself. Someone is listening.

Not if you leave it turned off. Just make sure it really is off, and not on "connected standby" (i.e. what normally happens when you press the power button and see the screen go dark). The best way to be sure is to remove the battery.

So many people want all of this new technology, many believing it makes their lives safer. It doesn't.

I'm still a believer in low tech solutions to problems. Why try to over-complicate things when they don't need to be. Newer technology is great, when it's working as designed, but the more complicated the technology, the greater potential for problems, and usually at the most inopportune times.

If you take a stipend for your personal phone from your company it is subject to being subpoenaed( if your company is involved in a lawsuit) and all of the Scandinavian amputee midget porn you have ever surfed will now be part of a public record.
