And he is about to have a "Hurricane Maria" moment with Puerto Rico as well with their grid down and I bet they have not made any improvements since Trump had crews down there in '18.

Oh ye of little faith. Breitbart themselves just did a story on the improvements made by the new utility agency in charge. They have improved their customer service and connected almost 300,000 to solar power.

You can't blame them for the grid going down completely. Who knew there would be no sun during a hurricane?

Puerto Rico had not updated their grid since the 70's - especially the areas away from the major cities. The issue will not be how much electric they can generate - it will be how quickly they can get the grid operational again on their own.

After talking with several folks who worked in P.R. after Maria, I learned a lot. One point was that the government of P.R. hid equipment and supplies of the contractors sent there to get the grid back up. It was only after the threat of a FBI investigation that the missing material was "found". And once the cities were up, the P.R. government pretty much lost interest in the rest of the grid.

I'm surprised that it's taken the Venezuelans this long to decide to empty their prisons and export their problems, frankly. And now, every other country in Central and South America will be doing it, too. The good news is that Brandon and the rest of the commies don't care - that's just more potential 'D' voters!

My old crew foreman spent a month down there. He came back with some really good stories.

As soon as I speak up in another thread about how Venezuelans, having experienced the joys of socialism, have great potential to be exactly the kind of immigrants we should welcome with open arms the Venezuelan government does this.

We just got back from a week in Puerto Rico. It's where I got the wu flu. Before we arrived they had protests about the power grid. The people we spoke to talked about how corrupt the gov is and that money for the grid ended up lining pockets.

I worked with a company man in south Texas who was a field supervisor in P.R. working on the grid. He was there from when their trucks and other equipment landed until the rewired a good chunk of the island. After talking with him (and others), the only reason I do not advocate walking away and abandoning them to their own fate is because I do not want to see the Chinese Navy (PLAN) in possession of Roosevelt Roads Naval Station.

Normal for most countries. Puerto Rico isn't much better either. D.R. and Haiti are basically the same. Like Cuba, tear down what you got in vengeance with those in power, then complain abut having nothing. P.R. used to have a lot of manufacturing, then bad politics chased them out. Street banks and stores had man-trap entrances the crooks were so bad.

There a chance many of them are political prisoners. How to sort those from the typical criminal is probably a challenge.
