A bike shop guy kinda eyeballing your fit isn't worth 150 imo.

I failed to say what was involved in the fitting. It’s not just an eyeballing.

Here’s a link that explains the service but it’s computerized and does an analysis.

Reading the link, they do need you to have your own pedals and shoes which makes me think perhaps it’s not ideal for beginners.

Had to find a wall to lean it in, no kickstand yet lol. But man this thing flies! Typical 29er ease of getting up to/maintaining speed mixed with a smooth, well tuned drivetrain make it a joy to ride. (If you couldn’t tell, this is my first true bike shop level bike)

No kickstand!!!!!! They are waisted weight.

Good looking bike man! You'll enjoy it as you have already discovered.

After a almost a week hunting( see the catastrophic bullet failure thread) I finally got a chance to try out the “attached to the bike” pedals and shoes on the veloway. Of course I forgot my helmet so did not ride as hard as I would have, but I am very happy with the results.

Very foggy and wet/slick this morning. Best 15 mile time yet, but I feel like I could have gone harder if the track was dry.

Still a little wet. Getting used to the clipless pedals. Started to rain so I called it a ride at 12 miles. View attachment 234563 little better time this round as well.
Been many years; but I recall falling in clipless pedals was not the most fun!!
Your foot(feet) should break free; but that's not always the case.
Riding in the rain is not something I want to do...and haven't had a chance in two months!!!

Rode on knobbies for a week, put a set of the WTB slicks I had on my previous bike on the chisel...nice and smooth!

Now to build/buy another set of wheels to easily swap between street tires and the knobbies.... for whatever reason, the tires the bike came with (specialized Fast Trak) were a PITA to get off.

Back in College Station. Slower than normal time takes into account my first wreck in the clipless pedals and laying on the sidewalk laughing at what are sure to be bruised ribs for a good 3-5 minutes before getting back on the bike. Will be fun to ride after work or tomorrow morning. Ouch.
