Private land lakes or ponds. Other than that you really need a boat. There are Huge lakes everywhere.
Make sure you have permission to use a private tank. We have surprised a family or two all set up with canopy, chairs and coolers. When asked what they thought they were doing on private land, they just looked dumb and said they thought it was legal.

Don't know how far you are willing to travel but I've had very good luck at Lake Amistad near Del Rio. I've had good luck at Lake Buchanan in the hill country and I love to fish the Guadalupe River. I love to fish the lakes around the power plants. One of my favorite is Fayette Lake.

For salt water fishing the Jetties at Port O'Connor, if you don't have a boat and if you do the Army Hole has many great areas full of fish. A buddy of mine has a boat and we love to go down to Corpus Christi and go out through the intercoastal canal also known as the Land Cut. Lots of great luck there.
