He's counting on being able to collect tax on profits from corporations, individuals capital gains, and "extreme" wealth - which you only get to steal once. All the while, creating Miiilllions of new high paying union jobs.

I don't have time to show the math and form a rational response to this much fantasy.

One part of me wants to laugh uncontrollably, and one part wants to vomit the equivalent of my entire body mass.

I had a weird dream last night that we found out that Bernie was my grandad’s biological father and that my grandad was adopted. This dream makes no sense since in reality my grandad is deceased and was older than Bernie when he died but whatever, weird dream.

In my dream, we had to go meet Bernie at one of his political strategy meetings and it was a little tense because I told him that I was not going to vote for him, even though we were related.

When he makes AOC his running mate, that will be like a cherry on top the sundae. AND it will be great to be finally RICH RICH RICH. Bet Bernie decides I am rich once he starts trying to pay for this lunacy as he will decide anyone who actually works for a living must be rich. Keep in mind Bernie has never held a non govt a job and Senators / Presidents income will be exempt from Bernie's tax schemes (even though Bernie is a millionaire $$$$).

Venting: College for All and Cancel Student Debt

    1. There is no country in the world that does this and doesn’t control who can go to college and, in some, what they will study. It can’t and won’t be college for all.

Both GI Bills and all tuition assistance programs in America can be sunsetted, which will have to occur since that money will be needed to pay for this program long term.

Oh, and businesses will no longer get to write off $5200/year per employee in tuition assistance.

On the good news side, there will probably not be a need for the 6,500 colleges, community/jucos, and and universities, nor their staffs and academics, so those people will be able to join the ranks of the unemployed or underemployed. It’ll be interesting to see the economic effect of that and what happens to the unused campuses.

That’s just a couple of surface-level unintended consequences of just this one idea.

This could be a Good Thing.

Bernie making these kinds of statements scares off the moderate Ds, and makes Trump's second term all that much more likely, so the Ds hate him more and more. So the Ds have already been thinking about a brokered convention, so they can backdoor Bernie if it's close: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/feb/25/bernie-sanders-democrats-brokered-convention

So the Ds screw Bernie, but it's obvious and public. That freaks out Bernie's followers (again) and all manner of disenfranchised Ds, who run off to vote libertarian or whatever. Trump's second term is guaranteed.

All the uber rich liberals shot their mouths off about leaving the U.S. if Trump was elected. Of course, not a one of those hypocrites did so.

Let Bernie get elected and impose his massive taxation, then see how many rich liberals quietly change their citizenship to lower tax countries.

AOC is ineligible to be on the ticket for VP. The VP has to meet the same eligibility as the president she is not 35

My 2 daughters go to public school at the local ISD STEM/ECS Academy and will have their 2yr associates degrees from Lone Star when they graduate. The "free" college program is already here in Texas for those that are willing to work for it.

Speaking of working, I've had a full time job since I was 15. At one point worked 3, and currently work 2. Maybe it's my "privilege", but I've never seen or experienced a lack of "opportunity". I have seen a lack of motivation. Gainful employment is out there. It may not be what people want to do or pay what they want to get paid, but it's there.

It's amazing to me that how no one seems to catch on to the fact that if you tax / fine corporations trillions of dollars to pay for "free" stuff, they're just going to raise prices and stop giving raises so that everyone who works for a living suddenly becomes much poorer than they used to be. But hasn't that always been the case with socialism?

Sounds nice on paper, everyone is equal. But the reality is, bring everyone down to the lowest possible level and make them equal that way.

$3 Trillion for the oil and gas industry to pay. How does $20/gallon for gas sound with no raise in the 4 years? And home electricity? Gonna cost more than a house payment each month. But think of all the "free" stuff.

Only idiots will fall for this nonsense of a plan.
