Baylor in McKinney has one large COVID-19 tent set up to test patients outside of the main hospital building. A pretty good size tent; I’d estimate at least 20’x30’. They plan to erect a second one, next week I believe. Baylor administration is estimating the peak number of infections will not occur until the third week of April. Also they’re unwilling to expend a virus test kit unless you’re running a significant fever. You can be exhibiting multiple other symptoms but unless you also have a fever, they don’t perform a COVID-19 test on you. To me, this yields absolutely no confidence in the “official” new case numbers reported on the news. Since they are not performing virus tests, due to a shortage of test kits, they have absolutely no idea how many new cases are popping up in the county.
