    Middle of no where
I regret trading in my 04 Jeep Unlimited for my F150 ecoboost. The 1st year of the LJ's, only made them for 3 years. I like to call them a Scrambler II. I was planning to do a V8 swap, 1 ton axles & 38's.

    Back in the day........
Early 70’s the black 58 (57 or 58 Ford) was dads 1st dirt track car. He won a few races in a couple of years racing at Colbert & Ivanhoe.

Then we built the blue 25 (56 Ford w/292) and he won a lot of races at the old track at Colbert as well as Ivanhoe, Grayson County speedway East of Sherman, and the old track at Thackerville.

That Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, & Bobby Brady in that second photo.

    These are great memories

    In the woods...
My first car was a 1963 Dodge Dart, 4-door with 3 on the tree and a slant six. I bought it from my granddad for $250. It ran so quiet you would swear it had died at every stop sign.
It had the old Venetian blinds in the back glass. I'm glad I sold that son of a b****.

The first car I bought was a 1961 Ford Fairlane from my father when I first got my DL, for the princely sum of $200! My grandfather had bought the Fairlane brand new, and in 1978 or 1979, ny grandmother bought a 1979 Ford Fairmont SW and she gave the Fairlane to my father. He used it for a few years as his go to work car.

The Fairlane looked just like the one Barney Fife drove on the Andy Griffith show, so my friends called it the "Fifemobile" and I got nicknamed "Barney" in high school!

I kept that car for a great number of years for a back up vehicle because it was easy and cheap to keep running and just about dead on reliable.

Working in a gas station while going to college. A guy came in with an LTD pushing an old Plymouth with his wife steering it. (At this moment, I forget the model.) He was pissed because he broke one of the corner lights on the LTD while pushing the other car with it. He was furious about the Plymouth and was convinced the transmission was out. He asked if we wanted to buy it. Well, I'm poor as a church mouse and told him no. The other kid working there said he didn't have much money, but what did the guy want. He sold the car to the kid for $1. I'm serious. After he left, the kid says, "I wonder if he checked the fluid level." We put a few cans of tranny fluid in it and it ran like a charm. Kid sold it for $600 a few days later.

Then, we had an old chevy parked on the lot overnight. In the morning, some kid crawled out of the back of it. He was broke and ran out of gas. He sold that car to the same kid above for $100 and a ride to the bus station. The kid drove that car for a year or two and sold it for $500.

Shooting at a range one day and the guy next to me had a beautiful Python. He asked me to check out the pistol, since he didn't seem to be hitting the target well. I shot it and it was dead on. He then told me that he worked on a pipeline crew and one of the welders had failed his tests and decided to give up and go back to wherever he came from. He offered this guy the gun for gas money. All the guy had was $50 on him, so that's what he ended up paying for that pistol. I offered to buy it from the guy, at a profit, since he couldn't shoot it worth a damn. He said it was such a pretty gun that he thought he'd keep it and maybe give it to his nephew for Christmas or something.

I seem to have a real gift for dodging luck.

69 Cheyenne super. Sort wide bed, 396 , 400 turbo, posi-trac. Factory ac.
I didn't keep it long. Couldn't afford the tire and gas bill.

I had one similar. A 1970 Chevrolet, 350 with a 4 barrel, TH350 transmission, PB, PS and A/C. Short bed fleetside. Hugger orange and white, with a black interior.

I bought it from a friend who had let it set up for a couple of years because he got a company truck to drive, and just stopped driving it. Well it had sat up long enough that it leaked oil from the dried out gaskets like a submarine with a screen door. It was fine as long as you kept putting oil in it. I had planned on doing the reseal of the entire engine along with some other repairs that it needed, but my second ex-wife decided to drive it to work because there something wrong with her car. I told her to check the oil before she left the house, and before she left work that night. Of course she didn't. By the time she got home that night, it was knocking badly! Really bad.

I was beyond pissed. I ended up selling it to a buddy for another engine for another project I had going. I did lose money on that one. And I really liked the truck.

And there's lots more. I was a dumbass, I thought cars were just cars when I was young, whenever the mood changed, the car changed, you know, the grass is greener. . . . . . . .

I regret putting any money into my wife's Expedition this year. Damn thing is finally not worth repairing anymore.

I had a '77 Monte Carlo that I miss. Talk about a boat but man that thing was a smooth ride.

    62 vet
I bought the vet for $1,500.00. Sold it for $1,700.00 and bought a 1959 Harley Duo Glide.
