Does anyone know if Astro Shooting Range in Briggs has shut their doors. I went out there last week and the drive was cabled up. Calls don't produce results. It was not a state of art range but I hate losing any resources for shooting.

Not sure but I drive by there daily. The chain has been up randomly over the last few months. Seemed it was closed more often than open.

Yeah, they started closing on Tuesdays & Wednesdays and reduced their staff from 4-5 to just 1. The owners started to upgrade awhile back and then just dropped the ball. Probably was the writing on the wall at that point.

I guess that grumpy old guy at Astro's ran everybody off. Coming from Georgetown, going North on 183, there is another, closer, range on the right. Lonestar Range and Academy. Real nice folks there. 100 yd rifle and 25 yd pistol ranges. Shotgun too. I make it out there once a month. They are closed on Mondays.
