Are Nose Rings A Leftist Signal?

In the past couple of years, it appears more and more young women are sporting 'nose rings', sometimes more than one.

Is this a political or fashion statement or both?

In addition to 'nose rings', many also display 'look at me - look at me' wildly unnatural hair color like blue, pink or purple.

Most of those women doing this almost always seem to be 'leftists' and they want you to know they're 'leftists'...

Or, is my highly critical perspective...um, ah, 'codger-ly'..?

I think it’s pretty normal now. Not so much a political statement. My wife wears one and she’s far from being a leftist.

I pierced my wife's nose 2 months ago. While it's not a ring, it's a diamond stud through the left nostril. I think it looks phucking hot on women.

One of the things I wonder about: When a woman gets a bad head cold and her nose ring/stud is removed, does the 'ooey- gooey' mucus go spurting of her puncture?

While I don't personally like nose rings or tats, I have to agree with your comments on these pics. I just wouldn't go as far as saying it's "hot". Attractive, maybe... my 46yr daughter has 5 piercings on one ear lobe and 3 on the other. I bought her a set of 5 rings and sapphire studs/posts to arrange as she pleases.

The young ladies working at my local McD are slim and very pretty.... I've gotten over being shocked by the vibrant hair color and sometimes find the shades of (red?) attractive. Haven't gotten there with green or blue yet.

I don’t get it either.
There’s a young woman here that works at the HEB. She has one. She’s actually quite pretty but the ring thing looks like a big booger hanging out of her nose. Yuck.
