I think I'm out of luck here. I'm left handed and recently built a dedicated lefty rifle, using stag arms bcg and upper. But, I want to build a lefty AR pistol with a side folding stock, so I bought another stag set. I don't think anyone makes a folding lower or folding adapter that will fold to the right side, instead of the standard left side. I've come to the conclusion that a standard folding (to the left) will interfere with the brass deflector and, especially, the forward assist. I've searched and searched and have only found a right side folder in 9mm, which is no good. I'm open to either going with a lower with integrated folding, or adding a folding adapter. I wish Law made a folding attachment for us lefty's. I'm sure I'm not the first to go down this path, but it's not looking good, from what I've been able to find.

    I don't think you'll have much luck.

Why not just use standard parts? The AR is, even in its most basic stock form, extremely easy for lefties to use. Either get an upper with out a forward assist, or get a delrin plug or a low profile FA, and an ambi safety and charging handle.

I was just trying to have my cake and eat it too. I have plenty of standard, right hand eject, ARs. All of them have ambi controls. I built the one left hand eject and like it a lot, so I decided to build another. This time in a pistol and with a folding stock. I will just forgo the folder, but I am definitely sticking with the Stag left handed parts from now on. Thanks for the reply.

Man, that's cool. Had to look it up but I never knew there was a plug for the FA. If I had my choice, I have had stag leave the FA off altogether. Learn something every day.

Which side an AR folds to doesn't matter because you'll only get 1 shot anyway without a buffer and recoil spring in-line with the bolt.

Look at a brn180 or a scar16 or Sig if you want a semi-AR style rifle you can shoot folded.

I just wanted it to fold completely. I never planned to fire it folded. Nothing I've found so far will fold all the way over and not contact the FA on a left hand ejecting upper. And I've found none that fold to the right side. It's no problem any more. I've basically stopped looking. I'm forgoing the folding stock on this build.

since u never plan to fire it folded why does the direction it folds matter?

    Because this forward assist

(I could not find a top down photo of the folding lower). I'd need a folding lower or folding attachment that folds to the right hand side. Does this make more sense?

Would a slick sided AR upper not suit you?

What about something like a Gibbs Arms with a forward mounted side (left) charging handle (non-recip)?

Damn, I wish I knew about Gibbz before I ordered the Stag left handed upper. Their G4 Left Handed Side Charging Upper is exactly what I need. And it looks badass. Top notch, sir, thank you!
