I’ve lost one of my Benchmade Axis folders in my back yard over three years ago. Last month my landscaper found it while he was cutting back freeze damaged foliage.

I sent it back to Benchmade and they replaced the spring that had completely rusted away, one of the thumb studs, cleaned up the rust on the back of the liner, and sharpened it. Cost: zero.

Good knives... a few years ago we sent him some old good quality made in the USA files and he sent us a couple of knives in exchange.....

They're pretty well made knives. Good files are made out of 1095 or something very similar, and that makes very good knife blades. (Most files these days are NOT very good and likely just surface hardened. Chinese steel - I shouldn't have to explain.) I've noticed that a lot of knives these days are not as sharp from the factory as you might expect. Maybe a cost-cutting effect?

Anzas are great. I use a pair of them for skinning/gutting deer. Only knives besides spyderco that I have got out of the box that were sharp enough for my purposes

I have two of the tan one below. Great knives for cleaning animals. I bought both of those at a gun show awhile back for $30 a piece. The gray handled one was bought on ebay for $60 brand new

The nice thing about the website is that you pick your knife out and aren’t stuck picking from the few the store might have.

They have a ton of options, then they make the knife to your order.

They hold an edge great due to being made with hardened steel. I skinned a couple deer and couldn't tell it affected the blade. Haven't sharpened any of my three.
