I recently bought a sportbike and just noticed the frame has a crack in it. I can't really prove whether I did it or if it was that way when I bought it so I'm stuck with it.

Anyway, I want to get it welded up while I search for a new frame. Does anyone know a good welder who knows how to work with aluminum in the houston area?
    Thanks

    Thanks.
I have heard that welded frames often break again. So we will. I need to get it fixed so I can ride again, I'll be keeping an eye on it to make sure it doesnt crack again and then just go from there

Point taken. Hopefully I can just get it welded and then not have to worry about it again. Its not like I plan on stunting the bike or racing or anything.
But still obviously want to feel safe on my bike.

But back to the main question, does anyone know a good welder?
I found this place Motorcycle Frames Wheels Engine Aluminum Welding Repair Houston TX
They said it would be 150-200 to fix the frame. Sound reasonable?

It doesn't sound out of line in price. Your best bet might be a small town type welder that has no idea what the internet is. You might have to find an actual phone book (they still make those right?).
