Anyone go fishing in the DFW area?

What lakes are good around here? What do ya'll fish for?

All the usual suspects. Grapevine,, Lewisville, Ray Roberts, Texoma, and Whitney several others. Ray Roberts, Texoma and Whitney are a bit of a drive, but if you have all day, they are worth it due to less crowding. Catfish, bass, crappy sand bass strippers. There are a few smaller close in lakes like Granbury and Eagle Mountain.

I haven't fished much in two years. Son in law sold his boat.

i usually do the wade-fishing bit.
or sind a good peir.
once or twice i've rigged up a couple of innertubes. one with a big net bottom to stash my catchanother to hold tackle box, gear and beer, and one to fish from.

i stopped doing that when i caugh a large (im guessing i never landed it) fish or something else that lives int he water and it pulled me out farther than id have like. i was out of my depth and didnt have the traction i needed to bring it in. i jsut kept getting farther from shore. had to get out and swim back towing my gear. what a pain in the ass lol.

That's awesome..lol... I have one almost pull me into the water, but I can't imagine being on a tube and that happening. Would be like having a trolling motor...lol

the thing is i was at choke canyon. lucky i didnt get gobbled by a gator!

Yuppers, cause with blasting them ya dont even need a net!! they just fly right into the boat!!
