I am considering getting a high quality crossbow. I don't want a "glock-bow" so it has to be made of metal. Any recommendations?

    m5215,

FWIW, I've "messed about with" XB for over 20 years & have NEVER even SEEN an all-metal one.

ImVho, the BEST XB is the EXCALIBUR, which is handmade in Canada & is VERY SIMPLY made of fiberglass, aluminum/titanium alloys, with NO wheels or or other mechanical "complications", which break, quickly wear-out and/or "get out of adjustment".
(When I replace my "old school" HORTON XL its replacement will be an EXCALIBUR.)

Check out: excaliburcrossbow.com for more info.

    yours, satx

OK sounds good I will check it out. I want to avoid any of the cheaply made ones.

Can't recall the name, but I recall reading about some high tech crossbow that could hold 1 or 1.5 MOA at 50 yards. Probably expensive..,

I have an Excalibur Matrix 360 and it is extremely accurate. I am thinking of selling/trading it though if you are interested. I have fired it about 15 times but I dont think I will get a chance to use it for hunting since I have kid(s) on the way

I have a number of bolts, broadheads and a case for it as well

    Not where you are
Even just a decent crossbow is going to be expensive.

This one I picked up at Cabellas for 2 bills. 405 fps and decent shooter. I was also wanting to get in to one for a reasonable sum to teat the water.

I dont (likely wont) hunt with it more just for fun.

Far from exotic but also not the bottom of the barrel.

    A phucking men!

I quit bow hunting 25 years ago. Every time I came to full draw my neck got all phucked up. Once I had to have an ambulance come take out of bed to the hospital cause I ruptured a disc and hurt a nerve so bad the spasms were almost unbearable.

Every time after that I even tried it was bad.

Drawing a bow is one of mine.
