Thermometer said 83 degrees when I went to get the wife a couple hours ago. Not quite ready for a fire yet. Need to get my chimney inspected / cleaned before I trust having a fire in the fire place.

I've got the wood in the fireplace, on the fireplace and in the rack off to the left plus about the same amount out in the shed.

    In the woods...
Last winter's freeze broke me of the fireplace "romance". Melted snow and ice, bugs, mud, bark all over the floor, rejuvenated spiders, scorpions, etc.

I'll stick to my stockpile of propane and my two portable gensets and electric blankets if it gets bad.

I've really enjoyed the last week+ of not having to keep a wood fire going..., but I'm ready to fire up the stove again.

I always wanted a wood burning fireplace. Never even considered the inefficiency or mess to clean up. That being said I’ll burn in it until I get tired of it. And it did come in handy last February in an all electric house.

Why do you have a bus in front of the fireplace?
This hound spent over 4 years on a racetrack before retirement. He has since become a democrat-he does no work, sleeps all day, expects free food, and medical care. From his sleeping spot in front of the fireplace, he can watch the front door and his food bowl without expending any effort.
