Anybody else interested in creating a "banned" area?

I was told to move my request to the Comment area, and so I have.

Would it be possible to create a thread in which we are informed that someone has been banned?

It could be from this time on, and only including actual members, not spam bots, etc.

I'm open to suggestions...

I think it's a good idea.
Provided that it's for information purposes only.
" So and so is banned for (timeframe up to permanent)"
Thread not open for discussion or comments except by moderators who just banned someone.
Why?
Because if someone wants to look up a member, 5 pages of "why?" would easily defeat the purpose of the thread.

I'm thinking, only for mods to post who and why.
Too many other posts to dig through to make it useful otherwise.

I envisioned it just as a place for mods to post banned individuals.
I never thought about people "dogging" others, never entered my mind.
I would just like a thread that I can subscribe to so that I will be notified of a change to it.

Fair point. Since I can't see a banned status on a member, that's a possibility. I usually see it coming and just watch the implosion though.

I don’t see the point in making it over complicated for a mod. Just share who and why. Easy reminder to the rest of us. I would hope anyway...
