Just got my new rifle today and was wondering if anyone knows a good long range where I could go and try out my new rifle. Thanks in advance

Sadly, it looks like Triple C in Cresson is permanently closed. Garland is a nice place to shoot for a controlled range. About 20 minutes shooting, 10 minutes for target changing every half hour. $25 initial fee + $25/visit for as long as you want. Very strict about no fmj rifle ammo even “range safe” fmj or fully plated rifle ammo. Soft point, hollow point or lead is OK and anything is fine with pistol ammo.

I like the Garland range. It's 10 minuets from me and I've been a member since the early 1970's.

Yes I like it too. The baffles on the rifle side make using my LabRadar difficult. You can't stand the unit on the bench because the wooden baffle above blocks the line of sight to the target. No obstructions on the pistol side though. The staff is friendly and easy going and it's nice to spend the afternoon shooting there.
