Are there any good driving roads near Katy, or spots that would be a cool backdrop for car pictures? Would really prefer it to be around Katy... not interested in actually going into Houston.

That's a nice drive. I'm not sure if you're looking for something specific but we do a lot of back road cruising and 1458 from 10 to 1093 is nice.

    I like 359 through 1093 as well.

102 from East of Columbus down to 90 Alternate at Eagle Lake has some elevation change

Normally I look for roads that follow creeks or rivers, but everything seems very flat and needlessly straight.
You come down from the hill country to what used to be rice farms for miles and miles and are surprised? What type topography do you think best suits rice farms? :green:

For a photo op, maybe Brazos Bend SP.

Driving roads are hard to find around here.

I had an "Isle of Cam" route, it was about 100 miles.
    I didn't name it that.
I'd love to know your "track". Text, PM or here. :)

Back in a bit, going for a quick ride.

Start at Montgomery taking 149 through the forrest past Richard's, through Anderson to 3090.
It hits 3090 about the middle, go the entire length. There are several more good miles on minor roads past 3090 which I can't do without being there.
After finishing 3090, go back to Montgomery, then hit 1097 and take it all the way. There are several more good miles on minor roads there which I can't do without being there.

Of what I posted, the best twisties are the 149 route through to, and including, 3090.

ETA: I'll emphasize that it's been 15 years since I have done this route.
I don't know what might have happened to any of it.

    Somewhere in Texas!
If you have made it as far as Eagle Lake, continue on to Hallettsville, Schulenburg, and La Grange. If you do not want to La Grange, take FM 532 back to New Beliau, then to Weimar. Hit I10 back to the city. Some winding roads and elevation changes.
