Houston continues to suck I see.

As for the break in, so long as the store was secured up to the requirements of the law who cares. Locks keep honest people honest. Making gun stores jump through crazy and expensive hoops to “protect” inventory will just drive them out of business so screw turning gun stores into vaults.

I am not advocating for more laws for shops to be forced to do what they should do any way...

If you think his insurance covered it all, it doesn't....first 10-20K of missing guns is on the owner......before his insurance kicks in.....if....he had insurance.....

I paid enough premiums to know......

Sorry not, wasn't trying to be a dick.....it could have come across that way...

You can add a lot of security measures for the amount of what a burglary could cost.........

Can't stop all burglaries, but you can darn sure mitigate your financial risks.......

And we don’t know what the shop had to mitigate. Thief’s are going to thief.

We need to certainly do everything reasonable to protect our property, even gun stores. However, the idea of blaming the store for a break-in and passing laws to force "over the top" expensive security has long been a tactic to force gun stores to close. Also seems to be a good way to force gun stores to provide video and other information on "legal" customers that otherwise the "authorities" would not have.

Tell me it wasn’t a drop ceiling that they went up and over.

I used to work for a federal reserve bank as security. This was 20 years ago... To prevent exactly what you are talking about the entire commercial "vault" was actually a steel cage. The reason is the adjacent "rooms" were not secure at all. So if some genius ever got the idea to break in and we didn't see them and they started crawling through the ceiling when they got to the commercial vault they'd have a surprise trying to crawl between the steel beams. They were 4 inches apart and 3 inches thick by 3 inches across. Good luck lugging a cutting torch up there.
