I've also got a crazy expensive rental-box and delivery address at a UPS store but hate to use it during this crowded time. Got it because of the regular break-ins to my street's community mailboxes.

Am I being overly anal about my deliveries?

I have a camera at the front door.
I have saved videos showing them literally tossing the package towards the front door.
In my opinion, if I can hear my purchase hitting the ground, it's being mistreated.
The article should be placed on the ground, not dropped or tossed.

    Am I being unreasonable?

I don't see you as being unreasonable in the least. I think a certain amount of care for packages should be expected by delivery drivers.

I guess I'm lucky. I have not seen any of my Amazon deliveries thrown, dropped, or tossed. Just placed near the door.

Late teens I worked @ UPS as an AM Pre Loader. How they managed to load the trailers was beyond me. Unloading generally was even worse with heavy shit on top of liter things. And this was all way before increased shipping of Amazons shit.

Here I can hear the truck coming a block away. Never get a knock on the door or a ring of the door bell because it outside of throwing distance. Out here it UPS, FedEx or th smaller stuff in the USPS.

They should be more gentle with the packages when delivering them to your house if for no other reason but to give the perception that they care. There is no telling how much the item was tossed, dropped, or kicked before it reached your house.

That being said, it could just be the one delivery person. They seem to place my Amazon deliveries with care on the porch. BTW, usually you get an email telling you the package has been delivered. It asks how the delivery was "Great" or "Not so great". Click on Not so great and let them know.

You obviously have had no airport baggage handling training.
