    Why would he quit if he wasn't there?
    Maybe he's an honorable man.

    If so, upon reading all the final reports the right thing to do is admit, at least to yourself, that you didn't do your job of hiring only officers with brains and balls. He may have admitted his training programs, for which he is ultimately responsible, failed prepare his officers to respond properly. In that case, an honorable man would resign.

    Maybe he just wants to do the right thing.

    I'd like to think so.

    That place east of Waco....
    UPD Chief, who was on a scheduled vacation when this happened, resigned. He spent 26 years with UPD and had been Chief since 2018.

    This comes a week after UPD’s internal investigation was released.



    The fact that he didn't fire every officer on-scene makes him less than honorable.
