Went today. Heading back tomorrow. At my Blanco River place with my snoring bride of 39 years right now.

    Quite great.
    Quite a range of styles.
    Hip hop(ugh) to EDM.
    Bluegrass to Axle Rose!!!

I honestly like the first 3-5 hours of relatively lesser knowns then the crowded headliners.

I'm over the angst of being older than 99% of the kids.

First time I've ever felt like I was freezing my nads off there!!!!
    My 15th year.
Missed 2017 due to a torn meniscus, repaired after hiking in Banff.

Had a couple (or 5) of the $9 beers. Huge craft beer expansion this year.
    Had Salt Lick BBQ.
Hung out with an attorney buddy through most sets.

    A "life is good" day.

I haven't been to a festival at Auditorium shores or Zilker since about '96. The crowds got so big, the parking so hard, and the cost so high........because of all the Austin transplants wanting to attend these "cool" events.......that I feel they have kind of been ruined.

    Glad you enjoyed it though.

    I hear ya.....

    I bought a 1 day tic. $105
Parked at the Palmer Center for $10.

    Enjoyed Noon to 6PM.
7PM crowded so I headed out.

Was drinking a Real Ale Devil's Backbone from my deck on the Guadalupe about 8:30.

    So..........

    Tonight was so very different.
Drove down to San Antonio Southtown to join some very old friends.
Beethoven Maennerchor (German social club) had their Octoberfest celebration. 152nd anniversary.
Antithesis of ACL Fest!!!! $6 Reubin sandwich with a little Dusseldorff mustard was sublime.

Good to be home in the cool fall star-shine hill country.
