    Hope any military, ex-military, LEOs and retired LEOs as well as many other first responders are asking for the discount at Academy - it's 10%. Note there is a lot of contradictory info about this available from Academy online versus in store versus to whom they actually give the discount and for how long the discount will last. In store it said may 2 - may 25, online it says May 2 through July 5th, both say for instore or online purchases. Also, online and relative to certain retirees, it does not say retired federal LE officers are eligible, it only says only retired federal police officers are eligible; however, in the stores they say I am eligible and have always given me this discount in the past (both in TX and AR) and they did so again today in TX. I have gotten the discount each time I show my retired federal LEO ID, no questions asked, no problems ever; however, your mileage may vary.

    I use it every chance I can.

    Thanks for the info. Sent it to a LEO, friend of mine.

    Gunz are icky.
    Went to both Pearland stores today.
    West store had a small amout of buckshot, mini shotshells, 17hmr, 308, 223, 22mag
    East store had almost nothing. Some .45 and .38 and 224V

    Just went by East Pearland store, about an hour ago. No more .38 special. Had about 4-5 boxes of .45ACP in Federal, some .22mag , plenty (~10-12 bxs.) of .223 & 5.56 in Winchester. A few .308, too. Was looking for 7MM, but no luck, yet.

    The West Pearland store sells out fast and puts a bunch behind the counter and won't sell it to you unless you're buying a firearm.

    I haven't seen handgun ammo on shelves in over a year but I'm not usually up at 6:00 AM. I priced a 380 round online I read about. $69.95 for 20 rounds. Insane. Federal Premium Personal Hydra-Shok Deep 380. (they need a longer name for that price) If attacked it would be cheaper to hand over my wallet than shoot.

    If you are on instagram, I post my academy scores on the daily. Academy has,by far, the most reasonable prices on ammo.

    @n4nn3r_n0dz if you are interested.

    Just left the Academy in Bastrop and they had plenty of 22mag and 22lr but 50rd packs only. Plenty of 7.62x51 WWB 20rd also. A few 5.56 WWB of the 500 packs and quite a bit of Browning 223 120rd boxes.

    I only got the 2 box limit of 38spl WWB.

    A few weeks ago an employee told me Winchester was going to do another price bump but I haven't been since. About 2 months ago the 100rd wwb 38 special was $50. I got 2 and was happy to have it. 357 mag has still been non existent. I know the 200 Rd 5.56 had already topped $130 and I hadn't seen 22 bulk packs in months. Of course I'm not in the morning line up so who knows, it could be there.

    I have found 357 locally but zero 38 special.
    I only own a 38 special, I screwed up and never purchased a s&w K frame 357 magnum. I will eventually do it, the interchangeable ammo is really useful in times like this.
    I want a model 65 or model 13.

    Went into my local academy this morning. They had 2 bulk (500 round) boxes of 5.56, lots of 20 round boxes of 5.56, lots of .223 and CCI subsonic 22 and CCI 17 HMR. No pistol caliber rounds but I didn’t expect to see anything at all. I believe their prices have gone up enough to curb demand. $299 for WWB 5.56 is not really cheap, nor is $11.99 for .22lr CCI. Those prices can pretty much be had at most small LGS’s. They still sell 9mm though at somewhat reasonable prices given the situation. I’m sure that’s going to change soon.
