A Marine and his Rifle; a brief history and legacy of the Old Corps

From the NRA American Rifleman online story some old Corps history about a Marine and his M1903 rifle. Before joining the Marines in 1960s I did own this rifle and used it in the CMP matches in Connecticut with the Pound Ridge Rifle Club of NY.

OooRah! I figure there are about 2 1/2 generations of Marines that have come after me by now. When I was a boot the last the WWII and Korean War vets were moving on or wearing stars.

I saw a Sgt Major was retiring on Friday with 30 years in. I went to boot camp before him.
