So back when this thread started I posted that Colt had replaced the slide and barrel before it started it's drama filled journey.......The slide and frame were sent off for work and I never shot it........the barrel and parts were put in a zip lock and forgotten until I got the slide back last week..............

I started reassembly and the the barrel Colt replaced is a smoothbore.....no rifling or even a hint of rifling.....

    Good freaking grief............

Man I think the Gods are trying to tell you something. You have had nothing but bad luck with this project. Maybe someone is trying to tell you something. Mr. Browning, is that you?

Of all the project guns I've done and given to friends and family......the only one I've done for myself has been a nightmare......

Punishment for being selfish it would seem............

That would work great with CCI shot shells.

So............today the slide has returned once again. There were some issues getting it color case hardened due to something the engraver did to the slide, but Sterling Gunsmithing in Amarillo was able to over come the issues and got it looking better than I thought it would turn out.

Now for the reassembly process which will be slow, because I changed my mind on parts that I had gathered in advance and have decided to go another way.................

    The journey continues.....................
