.556 PSP hunting ammo... doesn't blow up on drywall like varmint rounds, doesn't overpenetrate like FMJ (tests show these done' always tumble or stop if they do). Like porridge, not too hot, not too cold, just right.

Of course, if you live far enough away from others you ain' gotta worry bout wall penetration unless you got kids rooms in the path of fire.

I trained with a MP5, but I also cleaned it, will stick with the AK
It's not going to matter what gun you prefer, if you don't clean it, it won't work. The AR15 and Mp5 have seen constant use in some of the worst environments in the world since their inception.

Either gun will take whatever you can dish out.

The kp9 is functionally inferior to the MP5 as the kp9 is direct blowback. The delayed blowback action on the MP5 results in a more pleasant recoil impulse, faster follow up shots, and makes for a superior suppressor host.

Larry Vickers and 10,000+ operators who have used MP5’s since the 70’s agree. Many highly specialized law enforcement teams still use the MP5 over other 5.56 based rifles they have.

The MP5 uses a Roller-Lock action bolt, with my experience cleaning it, I wasn't happy with it

The same with the C308 I had, same type of bolt, not fun to clean

The MP5 without the stock is around $1300, with stock $1800, KP9 under $1000

Quality costs. The KP9 is a hi point with a better magazine.

Roller delayed is a dirty system. It doesn't matter, keep it wet and it will run forever

Are there any decent MP5 clones

The MKE/Century ones are ok, but if you want to reliably feed JHP's, you need to use HK mags. You can find them on sale for $60-70

I had a case head failure on mine awhile back, just a case of bad ammo. I had to replace the extractor and spring and it's back to 100%

I've got one(scorpion Evo) but I'd sooner grab the shotgun if I had the chance. Although a 20rd mag in the sig x full should handle anything less than a zombie hoarde. I think people tend to over prep for home invasions. I've had numerous law enforcement tell me time and time again most firefights occur within 10 feet. There will be no advantage in wielding a rifle and the sheer size of even a pistol ak or AR is still cumbersome.
