In comparison to the CZ which is superior and why? Magazines as well, which is most common in the US?

    Have you tried a XDM?
I've tried XDM. Nothing wrong with them...I've just never had a preference for them or striker guns in general.

The CZ has a VERY natural point of aim for me. The one in the picture holds 19 rounds. It serves regular duty on the night stand and friendly steel competitions.

It sometimes serves as carry, though the light adds to the bull so it is not often.

The HP is smaller and lighter. Capacity is a bit lower though. So, it gets out more for carry but does not get the night stand pick as often.

EDC is generally a full size government model 1911 in 45.

Of course, that's less capacity than either of the other two, but it is set up well and I am very comfortable with it.

I've never been a Glock fan, but a friend did have a G17 (if I recall correctly). That thing was a dream to shoot. His did have a custom trigger job though. Trigger work makes a difference. Virtually none of my handguns lack some measure of it.

Magazines on any of these are easy to come by.

Browning Hi-Powers are effing amazing. That would be the top of my list.

As for pistols I actually own rather than just craving the next opportunity to put rounds through...I love my Sig SP2022. (this one's not mine, but it looks juuuuust like it.)

I will consider the new Springfield variant.

I've yet to see one in the wild.

Looks to be a nice pistol, not to be confused with reasonably priced at this time.

Even clones from the past have gotten a bit silly on price.

I'm blessed with a good buddy who also happens to be an outstanding gunsmith. He had done some great work on some clones...often bringing the performance past some of the original Brownings.

I paid $250 for that one in the pic a while back. Of course, it looked and functioned nothing like it does now when I got it. Today it is an excellent functioning pistol....as John Moses Browning intended.

Being op ignored my question I’ll still help.

Go to a shop and handle everything. Focus on what feels good and puts your trigger finger in the right spot. That’s all that matters.

If your grip doesn’t need improvement that is.

Beretta & CZ are about tied in my book. The Beretta might have issues with smaller hands, but they are both great shooters.

SW, there are several options depending on materials and finish of the slide and frame. I’ve got the 5906 which is the stainless version and it’s very comfortable to shoot and the mags are still available from several sources.

HK. Many models to choose from.

One of the Turkish Beretta 92 or High Power models. I've handled a Girsan 92; it was tempting even thought it's just a 9mm. I don't think I've seen one of the High Powers.
