    Grab one and know perfection.

    You're welcome.
owned 3. Not impressed in the least with them. Poor ergos on the grip and 2 had constant problems with pins walking out of the frame to the point I had to glue them with clear fingernail polish. Others seem to have good luck.

I had an mp midsize 45 with night sights I regret trading off. Wonderful gun that with the large back strap fit my hands perfectly. Was 100 percent reliable.

Had an mp9 that was fine just choked suppressed.

Px4’s are actually good guns. Finish is trash and the frames are more slick than other brands but I enjoyed the few I had.

It’s my theory so many people love cz 75’s because the frame does a good job putting most shooters trigger finger in the right spot but almost everything now has adjustable back straps. Most guns are reliable. It’s about finding that gun that fits you well.

Normally I don’t get this involved but I ain’t got nothing going on…

What’s your hand size? What kind of frame puts your trigger finger in the right spot on the trigger? Is the xd you own a perfect fit?

I have large hands, a 1911 with a Houge grip is a perfect fit for my hands and quick aim pointing. The XD fits my hand about the same as well. It feels natural.

I currently have a full size Springfield XD service model in 9mm and I also own a full size Springfield 1911 base model.

I am not a fan of Glocks, so I won’t consider owning one. My reasons are my own.

What else is out there? I am looking for accuracy and decent capacity, I like the Springfield XD, it’s just not as accurate as my 1911 in my hands, but I like the overall feel.

Has anyone tried the XDM full size? Does anyone have thoughts on the new Springfield high power clone?

I am open to trying new brands. Just not Glocks.
While it isn't impossible, you will find it hard to find any polymer frame striker fired pistol that is as accurate as the 1911 platform. Unless your 1911is wore smooth plum out. So have you tried Rock Island's match 9 mm? High cap in a 1911. I shot one with no malfunctions and it shot well. It's heavy enough to double as a boat weight but if that's not an issue then it might be worth a look. My preference is my Wilson Combat Experior on the X9 frame. Mine is the 4" barrel but they come in 5" as well.

If I was a rich man who can afford to drop thousands of dollars on a pistol that would be the one. But for the rest of us plebeians I have to keep it within a reasonable amount.
Look into the Bul Armory offerings. Truly exceptional pistols for the price.

9mm seems to be improving as fare as ammo quality and quantity these past half decade or so. 45 is a favorite of mine, I won’t ever not have a 1911.
Half a decade is only 5 years. HST as been out for 21 years...

Canik Rival has been the best shooting pistol for the money I've ever shot. I have a 1911, cz75 etc... but that Canik Rival trigger is amazing.
I own several nines in various configurations but my Canik TP9 Combat Elite is by far my favorite. 15 + 1, awesome trigger and dead on right out of the box. My Sig P320 would be a good choice as well.

If you have never owned or fired a Browning Hi-Power (or decent copy) give one a try for a near perfect 9mm as of 1935 that really defined much of what we consider essential today. Other than a being a bit heavy compared to modern pistols, they have amazing ergonomics and I love Browning's view that trigger pull defines the pistol. MecGar 15 round magazines for the HP are plentiful. I have the Inglis variant and it is lots of fun.

Modern 9mm full size new production pistols have many great choices. I like my Glock 19 with the Timney trigger and Trijicon night sights a lot. But after you add pistol, sights, and trigger prices to a completed project, you can get a lot of other amazing pistols.

If you want to try something completely different and has not been mentioned in this thread yet, I have a Daewoo DP51 that I appreciate a lot for the thought that went into designing it. Their unique triple action trigger is far from perfect in terms of pull but I learned to accept it for another reason. In terms of being ready to fire when you need to pull the trigger, the DP51 has a lot going for it. Fire it single action, double action, or push the hammer forward for 1.5. Their aluminum frame was brilliant in 1991 too.

Buy one of each. They all have quirks to appreciate.
