Thinking on picking this up for 100 bucks.
Looking for a project gun, reminds me of the old police shotguns. Needs some work, stock had some weird plastic But plate and missing the ramp slide adjuster on the rear.

Shouldn’t be a rifled barrel correct?

As a kidI had an Ithaca model 37, I bought a factory Deerslayer barrel for it. The barrel was not rifled but had rifle sights.

    country boy,

I never knew that they made a DEERSLAYER in 16 gauge. = ALL that I've ever seen were 12 or 20 gauge.
ADDENDA: ITHACA also evidently made at least a FEW 28 gauge DEESLAYERS, too. = The WWW site that I looked at says that the 16 & 28 gauges are RARELY SEEN.

And I'm an ITHACA kind of southpaw guy, too.

    CONGRADS on the find.

You may want to check out SARCO if the stock is a REAL MESS. = SARCO has NUMEROUS NOS stocks for sale & at a reasonable price.

    yours, satx

If it's called a "deerslayer", wouldn't it have a rifled barrel for slugs?

    ZX9RCAM,

ITHACA made DEERSLAYERS in SMOOTH bore & RIFLED too. = The SMOOTH barrels were advertised as being "especially bored for buckshot & slugs".

My uncle Josh's 12 gauge was marked DEERSLAYER & was a SMOOTH BORE. - Had a 24" BARREL WITH RIFLE SIGHTS.
(Like me, he was a SOUTHPAW.)

He not only used it for WT but killed numerous turkeys with his Ithaca.
