Alright so I made it to the range today with the muzzle brake removed. I spent the morning working up some handloads to try out in addition to all the factory loads I tried previously. The results were outstanding(atleast for this rifle) and now I have a starting point to pinpoint some very accurate loads. I also tested the factory loads and they all shot like shit except for 150gr powershoks. Previously before I removed the muzzle brake, the 180gr powershoks were my go to. One thing I noticed and accounted for while reloading was the OAL for this rifle is around 2.93-95. Most of the factory ammo I had ranged from 2.7-2.85 so my handloads were 2.91 and I believed this helped with accuracy. This is actually my first time shooting my handloads at the range and I am excited about the results.

Im just glad that I worked it out with this rifle. Its been my go to hunting rifle for awhile now and I have taken quite a few animals with it. Would be a shame to retire it on a bad note but it looks like its here to stay

Wow. I know harmonics play a part but wow. Glad it worked out.
Yea it still has me scratching my head but I can live without the muzzle brake, especially with a 308. I just spent a few hundred dollars on reloading supplies. That range day gave me my second wind with this rifle.

I just got an older (1997) .223 Remington Model Seven. Im going to work on some loads for that now. Cant wait to turn a varmints skull into a canoe with that thing
