In a Wilderness Patrol School. Glad I ride as much as I do and have pretty top notch technical skills for mountain biking.

More miles today... and about half this week have been at night.

Finished the school with 83.8mi of TECHNICAL trails. Despite my lack of good training, my legs felt great all week.

Y'all are in a lot better shape than me to sustain those speeds over such distances and with significant grades.

With temps below 55° (I used to ride when it was 32°) my wife and I got a YMCA membership. Paid for by Silver and Fit ( social security advantage). I'm liking riding a stationary bike, no wind and comfortable.

I tried one of those memberships. They kept carding me there and at the early access for seniors at Kroger. I'm too young.

I quit going anyways. All those cars in the lot with their blinkers on.

I haven't let the cold stop me yet (down to freezing, with wind chill a little below freezing). But if the temps really hit the 'teens, I dunno...

The cold just kills my times, though. Average speed drops 10%. Seems like the muscles just don't loosen up.

I have an inexpensive Mongoose Dolomite sold at Academy, Walmart, Target. I've done several upgrades, like the handlebars. If you get it in a box you have to grease all the bearings before you ride it. I have 11,000 miles on it with neighborhood riding, at least 5 miles every day since 4/2016.
