I just sold a tricked out SIG 320 VTAC..and kept a Kimber Pro covert Carry custom shop ,45 1911
Friend it is like blondes or redheads.. either is an excellent choice.
I am 72 and the weight /size for comfortable carry came down on the Kimber side..either will obliterate the x ring at 25 feet and score tens at 50 with my old eyes and slightly less than "iron" stance.
the 9 is cheaper to shoot...and is new and sparkerly the 1911 ,45 is over 100years of polished class-

Choose your weapon! STANDBY....TARGETS! satisfaction and enjoyment with either lady!
    9mm actually predates .45 by 1 or 2 years

Breaks down to threat assessment , if you anticipate multiple hostiles in a protracted "shootout" then mag capacity falls with the SIG, if threat is 3 or less up close then the .45 would be my choice. (I routinely practice 100 yards with my Kimber 1911)

Yes it does, however the Colt 1911 John Browning design is over 100 years of reliability and granted today's 9x21 is a more potent round than the 9mm Luger. As normal my wording could be improved and was ambiguous
