What would the typical height of a 1000 yd. range berm be, I have no idea?
Obviously berms are needed at shorter distance as well.

I'm not sure. I haven't decided for sure which distances will get a target and which won't.
I'm pretty sure I'm not going to build 10 independent berms. Maybe 6 different targets out to 1000.
I know that I want the 100 to be fun for beginners. "Bunny slope" stuff. Lol. Lots of different reaction targets and paper target stands.

    I'm open to suggestions.

    I was just curious.

I started to go through google earth/elevation a while back and figure out the amount of clearance at the different ranges. Shit I used to know how to do but probably have smoke coming out of my ears figuring it out now.

I would say offer both a steel and paper target for the longer range. Nothing fancy, but the ability to figure out the DOPE and group size on paper for load work up, and hear a hit on steel for general practice/wind calls/etc.

At 100 I'd say something like 12", 6", and 3" steel, and a rack that allows hanging random coke bottles, bowling pins, etc. A balloon anchored off with a string to an old broom stick could be a fun target in the wind. Might be pretty interesting at 300-400 as well.

I'm thinking the ability to attach a piece of dollar store foam board to a stand at longer ranges would be pretty nice.

I have only shot to 1000 yards. Some of that stuff doesn't come in to play until beyond that.

I hope to have to worry about it someday though.

    Younggun,

Because the foam board will explode upon impact, giving the shooter immediate feedback of a hit or ?

No. At least, I hope not. Lol.

Mostly because bullets are dropping very fast at 1000 yards and the wind can do a lot. Especially is you are stretching something like .308 to its limit.

The foam board gives you a fairly large backing that won't tear off in the wind and is pretty cheap. Keeping on a standard size target sheet would be pretty darn good at 1k, the foam board would just make it easier to see where you're missing.

I've got 1 sheet. I hear it's about to be banned.

I'd be willing to let you have it, at an adjusted price of course.
