There are many ways to get on a list.
Then there are ways to get to the top of the lists.
If my friends are not on most of the list I'm on..well...I don't need that kind of negativity in my life
.... hold on...I hear a Blackhawk over the house...

Your mention of ‘’Blackhawk’’ spurred a memory.

Back during the mid 1990’s, I arrived early at Wharton Airport (« K-ARM ») on US59, ‘’SW Freeway’’, for a goose hunt. Pulled my twin off to ramp parking, unloaded hunting gear & luggage, to await my Brother-in-Law for trip to hotel.

About dark:30, all Hell broke loose.

A Citation w/ RADAR nose began circling, a Blackhawk forced a twin down, then blocked runway. Loudspeakers ordered twin Pilot out, to lie face down on rrunway, men in black w/ SMG’s & spotlights came out.

I didn’t know whether to load my goose gun, run away, or what.

    But they never noticed me.

Some 15‘’ later, the circus suddenly departed, leaving very shaken Pilot alone. None of them had ever noticed me, sitting very nearby on my wing.

I went to speak with Pilot, who was still very upset, shaking. He was just a local Houston Pilot, who was moving the EMPTY plane back to Corpus for its owner.

The Feds had severely over-acted, should have faced discipline. Indeed, they created an extremely dangerous situation by blocking an active runway w/o ‘’NOTAM’’, IN THE DARK.

Pilot Guy finally calmed-down & resumed trip to Corpus.

    And I was left with another story to tell. . . . . . .
