Two weeks later and the bite area is smaller than a dime.

13 year old beagle mix, Inu.
Brave little dude. Wife heard him yelp and saw him jump. She went over and heard the buzzing.
She took him to ER vet and they started antivenin treatment.
Little dude had a seizure ( he has always had them) but is stable as of this morning.
Little dude could use some good thoughts and prayers.

Great news! Looks like a full recovery.

Just an observation, or question. But does it seem that dogs handle being bit from venomous snakes better than people do?
They do. A lot of older folks I know have told me about dogs they had that were bitten multiple times over their lives and most lived without ever going to a vet.
Inu would not have lived. He went almost immediately into shock and had a massive seizure while being treated. Best $x,xxx I have spent this year.

    Yes, money well spent.

I know one of my younger dogs has been bit at least five times maybe six. Other than the swelling, didn't seem like it bothered him too much.

Yep, we had several bitten when I was young, the vet said they'll usually do pretty well.
Of course we always took them in.

He looks great . Did you get the snake who bit him? I was thinking an M-80 down the whole would probably suffice.

Hoji, he needs a tattoo to go with the scar. Chicks dig scars and tattoos!
He lost a tooth in a fight with the neighbor’s wolf/Pyrenees mix about 12 years ago. He weighs 29 lbs, neighbor’s dog weighed 130. His offense was peeing on a tree near our fence. Little fucker jumped over the fence and took care of business.( in his mind) as I was carrying the limping little genius back to the house, Polarbear,( neighbor’s dog) came back to see what was going on and the little dude tried to jump out of my arms and get some more.

I told my wife we should get him a gold tooth to replace the one he lost.
