So yet another issue with my Bauer automatic .25 acp.

Today while out shooting.....I decided to run a box of rounds through the Bauer. About 30 rounds in it had a failure to eject. Now this gun usually operates really well.....I have 2 factory magazines and they just work. So today when it failed to eject......I started looking to see what the issue was and found the ejector was gone. That means the little pin, spring and ejector are just.....gone. I couldn't find them anywhere. I went online to Numrich and $85 later I have the parts on order.

Is there any secret or special knowledge required to install the small spring, ejector and pin? How can I make sure that pin doesn't back out? Can I use some Loctite on the pin? It is just pushed in I believe. Should I "stake" that little pin in?

    Thoughts??

    Thanks in advance

So the Bauer parts showed up yesterday........after a few minutes I had them installed. Took it out to shoot today and after 2-3 magazines of shooting I noticed the extractor pin was migrating upward again. I pushed it back down with a small punch and ran another 8-9 rounds through it......and yes the pin is migrating up. It is moving up enough that if not watched I am going to lose the parts all over again. Any thoughts on how to secure that pin? I am thinking I will clean it up real good and use some clear fingernail polish in that recess on top of the pin. Let it dry good and go try it again. I hate to "stake" the pin and leave a mark on the outside of my slide.

    Thoughts?

I pulled up the diagram on Numrich - so I have a question. Is the hole for the extractor pin a through hole or a blind hole? If it's a through hole, I'd glue that sucker in there with some loctite or something similar. I assume its a through hole, or how else could you ever get the extractor off.

Yes......It is a through hole. You think if I put some blue or red loctite on the pin and drive it in place.....that would hold it? I seriously thought about while the pin is in place to place clear fingernail polish in the top of the hole where the pin is.......The pin is not likely to migrate out the bottom where the frame is.....it could only go so far in that direction.

I'd pull the pin out, clean it and the hole with acetone, and blue loctite it in there. Fingernail polish might work, but it's very brittle and might break down on something getting hammered around, like a slide. I would definitely not use red loctite, you might never get it out without lots of heat.

It has also been suggested to replace the solid pin with a roll pin cut to length.......my concern with that is the roll pin might interfere with the extractor action.......
