After being closed under state order, most banks reopened under Phase 2 and required customers in their lobbies to wear masks. Fast forward to Abbott issuing the statewide mask order and many banks closed again. There was no edict that they close, so why did all these banks shut their doors on the customers? They already had mask and distancing requirements so what possible benefit could they be seeking?
Here locally, the banks I frequent are all closed including Southside, Austin, Texas National and Chase (which never did reopen in Phase 2). I have not been back to my credit union since Abbott's order but I am sure they are closed too.
I am really getting tired of all of these businesses taking the governor's directives and then placing additional layers on top for no reason. If I can find a bank that is staying open locally I will close all my other accounts and move to them
