Food for thought. How does the current antibody testing regime differ from the antibodies created by this vaccine?

It would seem there’s a chance that if you get the vaccine it would be difficult to distinguish that from a positive AB test later on, ergo by getting the vaccine, you are a positive case just waiting to get tested later.

I would expect that since an AB test is just looking for the presence of antibodies, that its purpose is to indicate possible/probable immunity. Ergo, positive AB won't indicate an actual Covid case....or shouldn't anyway.

According to the article and the testing data the antibodies are identical to patients that survived COVID 19

That’s why I posed the question. Once you get the vaccine, it’s impossible to tell if the ABs you have are from the vaccine or the disease if you later get tested.

That may become important for people who want to join the military or buy a life insurance policy for starters.

But that is what you want. You want the antibodies to be indistinguishable fro disease or vaccine. That is a good response.

I'm the only person that voted yes. I would get a vaccine for it if it were available. I'd get the smallpox vaccine if they still offered it. I get a Flu shot every year.

I knew a guy that had polio because his parents were heavy anti-vaxxers and he ended up getting it. He led a very miserable life.
I have joined you in the “Yes” column. Vaccines are safe. There are no trackers in vaccines or test swabs. I have personally swabbed several hundred people in the last few months. They are just swabs

I understand that. Did you read the remainder of my post? Like most good things, it’s the unintended consequences that screw you at the drive thru.

And no, I don’t have the answer, but I sure as hell hope people smarter than me are thinking about those second, third, and later order effects of the policies being out in place now.

But I’m truly disappointed in the critical thinking skills of most medical and policy professionals, so I don’t have high hopes.

It's my understanding that the test for COVID-19,
tests for the presence of the antigen.
But the test for an acquired immunity,
tests for the presence of the antibodies.

    You understand correctly.
Unfortunately, it is currently not known for certain the detection of antibodies will make one immune to future exposures

In our small city doctors order tests for the antigen.
If requested, they can also run a test for the antibodies.
But they think there's a problem with the antibody tests.

So, if I have it but don't know that I have it, would I need to be vaccinated against it?

I don't think I would get one. All those that do will probably develop horns or something a few months afterward :what: and will want to get a new Microsoft product instead of a freedom loving gun :m16:

    No.

I’ve read the ingredient and side effect information on numerous vaccines. That’s why I choose not to take them.

I’ve had 2 flu shots in my adult life, and those were the only two times I ever had the flu.

Drug companies are exempt from any liability from vaccine side effects.

There are roughly 70 vaccines recommended over a lifetime, and significantly concentrated in early childhood years.

I’ll probably wait out the first version...gotta see how that shakes out in the population at large.

I’d hate to end up being one of the people struck with the laundry list of side effects.
    Exactly the same here.

I'm definitely not anti-vax. I have the basic package, and so do my kids. I got some extras when I traveled to the amazon basin. But all the stuff I get has been around a while, is well tested, not rushed to market, and has a good history. You couldn't say any of those about the first couple of iterations of a covid-19 vaccine. And that doesn't even consider the shitshow and fake science around the whole shebang.
