Well the heat whooped me pretty good yesterday. Even drinking lots of water, I think I still got somewhat dehydrated. Woke up about 4 am and was hugging the toilet. (I blame the strawberry milkshake and the beer I had for dinner last night for that!) About 6 am, I decided to eat something because I was starving to death. Made some eggs bacon and toast. About 8 am, my stomach rebelled and it wa back to hugging the toilet again. By that time, I had an awful headache and just felt like crap, so I took a couple Advil, crawled back into bed with the A/C cranked up on high. Just woke back up a little while ago. I feel better, but just still tired and thirsty.

I think it was a mild case of heat exhaustion. Probably fixing the broken water line did it. But, I had no choice in getting it fixed. I was drinking lots of water, but I think I was still sweating it out faster than I was replacing it. Once I got back to the house, my clothes were soaking wet.

It's not just the heat, but the high humidity that saps your energy. This is why I say it can still sneak up on you. Y'all be careful out there.

Were you taking in any kind of electrolytes? Water by itself isn't necessarily enough in high humidity.

Should have taken the advice you gave me! Take care of yourself, this heat is no joke.

Hung in a little longer today than yesterday but a trip to Lowe's for supplies gave us a break. Installed the meter can riser for service entrance, we dug out the main water line, wired and plumbed a 12' X 24' building for washer/dryer, lights, freezer and A/C so it can be spray foamed in the morning, cleared a 10' X 40' slab (storm collapsed greenhouse) and nearly finished trenching for the RV power pedestal branch.

Have to onboard a new contractor tomorrow but plan to finish up the power pedestal tomorrow a little in the morning and afternoon.

Bonus: cordless drill set died after many years of faithful service, treated myself to a 5 tool set.

    Feeling pretty whipped.

Actually I was taking my own advice until about 6:30 that evening when I decided to do a little more mowing before it got dark. That was when I noticed the water trickling on the ground. Exactly where the water line is buried. I didn't really have much choice. The wife did help, by bringing me water and tools and helping dig up the line.

It didn't bother me until about 4 am the next morning though.

Yup water leaks won't wait and they don't care how hot it is or how tired you are.

Seems like a few of us are working on the same things setting up RVs. Don't know if Im going to mess with water lines today or not but have to at least finish that power.

Yes sir! Water leaks never happen when it's convenient for you! The last two bad ones I had some five years ago, one happened in the middle of summer and the other that winter! Not fun.

Texas heat? ... try shoeing horses, in a Texas hay pasture, in July, using a coal fired forge in the back of the truck, and having to catch 'em the to boot.

It did help to be late 20's, raised on the Gulf Coast, and the thought of a couple of hundred $ and that ice cold quart of Colt 45 on the way home in the evening kept you going.

Yeah I've noticed it was easier in my 20s, 30s, 40s, even 50s but have to go a bit slower now a days.
