Kellen Mond promoted this one with the help from the news. Guess he doesn't need to practice his skills anymore since he's figured out his career plan B.

Former students stood their ground. Some coming in as far as Dallas. It ended peacefully for now, but as you know, commies like to attack these things at night when no one is looking.

And that Tucker kid should be kicked out of the school. Thug.

One of the Old Ags just blows away the "Sul Ross did something wrong and doesn't deserve a statue" argument right out of the water.

I appreciate that the limited dialog between the football players and the old Aggies, along with the crowd, was relatively calm.

That Tucker guy was doing some ghetto azz dominance behavior and it just shows what kind of person he is.

Yahoo! Sports picked it up. I'm sure ESPN and others will too. Typical lazy journalism, running the narrative with quotes given to them and no independent interviews or background.

“The event was a collaboration between the Black Graduate Student Association, Graduate and Professional Student Government, and the Texas A&M Young Democratic Socialists of America.

Qynetta Caston, a senior political science major, helped organize the event. She says it is important for them to make sure their voices are heard.

“Texas A&M for so long has prioritized traditions over inclusiveness, and for many years they have silenced the voices of their minoritized students and their black community,” said Caston.“

Read what I put in bold. Not saying she is part of that group, but the association between them exists. How does one be a PS major at a major US university and still be a associated with socialists? Do they not teach history and American politics? Is there no mention of English Common Law, the Magna Carta, Locke, Burke, Jefferson, Benjamin Rush and others? Most importantly our Declaration of Independence, Constitution and how those principles and documents established the most free system of government ever devised by man?

I’m sure she thinks all the other times socialism failed it’s only because “they didn’t do it right” and “it wasn’t real socialism”.

    Simply disgusting.

And no, universities are no longer teaching history. They teach a liberal revisionist version.

And Caston's statement is simply wrong.

A&M's traditions have nothing to do with race.

I wonder how much it cost for them football players to go to that expensive school? Definitely racism is keeping them down.

I say we remove all these sports from the colleges altogether. If you want to play a game of football or something on Saturday with your buddies, that’s fine, no more organized sports. If you want to play sports after high school go minor league or pro. School should be for learning, that’s it. I saw something the other year that showed the highest paid state employee in every state. The majority of them was the football head coach at one of the universities. I think our priorities are skewed.

I believe that the A $ M football program brought in 105 million ( highest in the nation) last year. You will never get rid of football in Aggie land. I too think it is ridiculous that Jimbo is making 7.5 mill a year.

The joke is these young commies think they can do better than the Bolsheviks, when it looks like they won't even be able to equal the accomplishments of the ZANU.

My eldest niece started at A&M last fall. I can tell you this, IF his daughter was involved in this sort of nonsense, she would be paying for her own college!
Hear, hear! I told my kids I would not pay for Arizona State University but I would pay for them to go to Texas A&M. They know if they take commie classes or join a commie org on campus, they will be paying for the privilege.

These young commies are and will be lifelong dependents on taxpayers in one fashion or another.

Thankfully, neither of my nieces care about any of the "commie" crap! The care more about getting an education.

What's behind this "movement"is a single professor at Texas A&M, Michael Alvard. He's a real piece of work.

    https://www.campusreform.org/?ID=15230

Black Lives Matter will be there on Sunday the 12th.

From a traditional Aggie group (not my words)

    DEFEND SULLY
Sunday July 12. Meet at Sully at between 3 and 3:30. Wear maroon. Wear a wuhan mask. I will ask the cops to enforce social distancing. It will be hot. Wear a hat and bring water, gatorade, powerade or what ever. You might want to bring a folding chair. American Flags and Texas flags are appropriate. The press will try to make us look bad so leave the Stars and Bars in your car. Don't talk to the press. What ever you say, they will twist it into something bad. Don't talk to the anti-Sully group. It just adds fuel to the fire. We will make a circle around Sully and wait for them to leave. It could be hours. If we have enough people we can stand in shifts.

Well, they must not want a statue of a black hero too badly. BLM students launched the Matthew Gaines Initiative to raise funds for the project with a target goal of $350,000. And apparently even with the university chipping in $225k, they have not reached the $350k goal.

    From the article....

"Join these and other Texas A&M students to increase awareness and to raise an estimated $350,000 by May 2019."
