The brookshires in bonham is forcing people to put on a mask at the front door. I got blindsided by some old wench right at the door. I told her I have "edemic asthma" (whatever the hell that is, I just made it up lol) and she bought it. Most folks I saw were very pissed at the policy

Looks like Ill be doing the order online option til this blows over

Like I said earlier, the governor's order is one thing, the risk averse merchants with the leftist loss management staff are something else. Whataburger, Starbucks, and most of the other places will put mask police at the front doors and go way beyond what the normal response will be

Lowes in Palestine has "mask checkers" at the entrances. I told the guy to pound sand and left. I went to purchase a new flag. Online it showed it was priced at $23.98. I bought two from a roadside vendor that were bigger and cheaper!

    Phuck this mask nonsense!

One small local victory here in Smith County; the sheriff made it official that the mask order will not be enforced. County was never the big issue because it is the corporate retailers and food chains that will cause is grief with their mask police, but at least it is one step in the right direction.

When I see an armed security guard at the front door to a fast food place doing mask checks, I am never going back. How much easier if they just let folks make their own decisions and do what they do best...serve burgers

Many retailers will not police this. I know of 3 large discount chains that wont endanger their customers by policing the mask bs.

And remember cdc guidelines says you shouldn't wear a mask if you have a mental or physical condition that causes breathing problems.

Always follow cdc guidance. If you have conditions like Automatonophobia or the subset maskphobia. Two very real and legitimate conditions. Or claustrophobia caused by your face being covered. Or COPD and or allergies to mask materials or in my case severe congestion simply by covering my face makes it difficult to breathe leading to a severe acute case of claustrophobia.

Took the wife out for a ride on the VMax today, stopped at Los Cucos in Waco for some queso and a couple beers. I was elated to hear the 20yo bartender piss and moan about govt overreach, having to wear a mask for no reason. My faith in humanity rose a tick, maybe two.

BTW, if anyone enjoys Los Cucos, they could use some visitation/business in the Waco location. Seems most of the hospital staff that was laid off is one of their primary customer base. I like their food, eaten at the one in houston, college station as well. It’d be a shame if they close.

Still a beast. I’ve had the ecu flashed, 4-1’s, modified air box,PC-V, should be upwards 195hp. Scariest thing I’ve ever owned, wanted one since my dads friend had one in 1989.

And I quoted you, just for old times sake. . And pay no attention to the mess in the background. Rona took care of that

VMAX was a beast in its day.
    Still nothing to sneeze at.

Having shrimp stuffed avocados from Los Cucos later on.

If you know what they are, you might see one. Most everyone asks, “What is that?” From zx9r, I am going out on a limb that’s your baby. One of my brothers had a zr11, I loved that scooter. My first ride at 17 was a 86 Vulcan 750. Loved that bike.

    That was one of them.
I sold all my bikes in 2005, after my last wreck.

ETA: That one was a 2001.
Had 65,000 miles on it when I sold it.

Nice! Always awesome to have a ride you love to ride that shows with high mileage. Highest I had was an fjr with 53000 when I sold. Sorry to hear about your wreck. Musta been a good one to make you hang it all up.

    Laid off hospital staff?

But the hospitals are being overrun!

From the Milam County Sheriff dept...
“Local law enforcement and other local officials, as appropriate, can and should enforce this executive order... But no law enforcement or other official may detain, arrest, or confine in jail any person for a violation of this executive order”

This is the order as written from the Governor - due to the order forbidding law enforcement from detaining anyone in violation of the order and the fact that most enforcement of any law requires some sort of detention - the Milam County Sheriff’s Office will not take enforcement action concerning the Governor’s ‘mask’ order. I have reached out to the legal department of the Texas Association of Counties seeking legal advice for how to take appropriate action without opening the County up to civil penalties or law suits that might stem from possible civil rights violations.

I do understand the intent of this order to help stem the spread of COVID-19 - but the only action my Office will take will be to educate and suggest the use of masks - not threaten enforcement penalties for failing to abide by the Governor’s order.

Please contact me at the MIlam County Sheriff’s Office at 254-697-7033 if you have any questions.

Of course that does nothing for the order from County Judge Steve Young who is fining businesses $1000 per customer without a mask, but at least the Sheriff dept has their head screwed on right.

It's not like the sheriff is going to protect you from the constable or municipal police either.

Went into our local city hall to pay the water bill today and was surprised to see no one wearing a mask. Asked the clerk at the Utilities window and she said that the County was not going to enforce the order so the City will not either. Good news for me since this little town makes its budget with traffic citations so glad they are hands off on the masks.

Of course, this means we are all going to die!
