    To All,

Fwiw, ALL living Texicans are either immigrants or the descendants of immigrants. - Even "us blanket@ss red-men" are relative NEWCOMERS.
(Comanches from the west out near UT, Apaches who left Mexico to escape the Aztecs/Conquistidors, Kickapoos who wandered in from some unidentified place up North, Woodland people like our tribe who came to Texas to escape the US Army in the 1820-40 period, etc.)
The so-called "original resident" Indians either LEFT Texas, intermarried with other Texan folk or simply died out.

To "newcomers" from CA/Yankee States: You will become "Texan by choice", your children will be PROUDLY native-born Texans, your grandkids will be TEXICANS & your Great-grand children will stoutly deny that their family was EVER anything but "PUREBRED TEXICAN, since San Jacinto", clear to the bone marrow.

Note: My mother's Anglo-Scots side of the family started "drifting into Texas" about 1820 & by February 1866 essentially all of her side of the family was here.- My great-grandfather was one of the first native-born Texans from that group of refugees.
(The last group FLED the FURY of the hateful/vengeful/murderous DYs, from Marshall County, MS, in the Spring of 1865 & crossed the Sabine about 2 steps ahead of their pursuers.= They became some of the first Anglo settlers of what is now Franklin County.)

I know TXhillbilly personally, and I think some are taking his viewpoints out of context. Too many people have moved to Texas to "escape" states that have much less personal freedoms that Texas has. They end up bringing their socialist and commie values with them, and are trying to turn Texas into something similar to California, or New York.

How many times, in the Intro Section a new member to the forum, and our state, have been met with, "leave your politics and ways" from whatever state they came from, at the border coming into Texas? More than a few times!

In some ways, I'm not a native Texan, and am the very few in our family that was born outside of Texas, but I have been living here since I was just a little over a year old. My father was in the Air Force when I was born, and was still being moved to different assignments and duty stations when I was born. I love being a Texan, and I love Texas history, tradition and the culture, and living here in this great state.

Texas use to a very, very red and conservative state. And over the last say ten years, has an increasing blue liberal presence invading many of our larger cities. Too many transplants coming into Texas and bringing their socialist, commie, liberal progressive attitudes and politics into Texas. I sure as hell don't want them here! They don't represent what Texas stands for, or who Texans are.
    From 1847 - 1979 every governor was a democrat.

It's unfortunate. We have been Texans season ticket holders for 11 years. After the Super Bowl Halftime Porno Show we were in serious discussions about whether to renew this year.
This pretty well seals it. There is ONE National Anthem. It for the Nation of the United States of America! Be you Black, White, Asian or even Martian, if you are a citizen of the United States of America then this is your National Anthem.

I can not see myself supporting any organization that divides our country based on race by this or any other such nonsense!

I hate to say it, but the NFL and particularly the Houston Texans have just lost a supporter that spent >$3,000 every year just on tickets plus whatever we spent in the off time for trinkets and other memorabilia.

The NFL had priced me out of attending a game many years ago
Still like some hats and stuff, but I can get them on WISH and be sure nobody paid any royalties. The Houston Texan Cow emblem is the worst
The kneeling to show stupidity put an end to watching on TV.
Enough time has passed where I can;t name anybody who plays for my home team
Just don't meed the NFL, the MLB or any of the other anti American racist sports groups.

I did watch the first few games of whatever that other leagues football group was called. Was it the XFL. But when they saw Houston was the clear leader they filed for bankruptcy. I tried High School ball but they want to kneel and other sissy stuff and their commie leaninmg teachers support them so that's out.

I guess in the end football really does mean Soccer. And that puts me to sleep in minutes.

This will be season 4 for me not watching one single NFL game. The day Goodell allowed the first Anthem kneeler to remain in the league, I was done and done. Not one second since beyond surfing past it. I missed it the first season and after that i enjoyed telling people why I wouldn't be attending games with them and passing on Superbowl parties. Just heard today that the Redskins will be changing their name to something else other than - and I could not care less. Turn that garbage off, Folks!

To all the "native Texan" bigots here:
Texas is a State of mind, and you just do NOT get it. You sound a lot like antifa - "I don't know you so I hate you". Some of us moved HERE for the freedom. Too bad you cannot grasp that ideal. So Sam Houston, and Bowie and Crockett are not good enough for YOU?

Some of you guy's really can't take a joke. Pull your panties back out, they're cutting off the blood flow to your brain.

To those of you who don’t know the black national anthem is named Lift Every Voice and Sing. One of the most well known rendition is one that Ray Charles did in the 70’s in do believe.

    In the woods...
I grew up with a grandfather who taught me to "never pay money for a garment promoting someone else's enterprise". He once bought a Ford tractor, back in the 60's, and they GAVE him a "Ford" coffee cup. He used it.
His reasoning was as follows: "why the hell would I PAY to wear something with someone else's name on it it? If I'm going to wear a garment promoting a brand, then, they should pay me, because I'm not a damned fool!"
He came to the U.S. at 17, the oldest of six children, as a political refugee from Germany. He used to show us the holes in his legs where he was hit with buckshot stealing potatoes out of a field to feed his siblings. He always referred to himself as a 'frietinker", a free- thinker.
I never have worn hats, shirts, etc, promoting someone else's enterprise. It's kind of foolish to PAY to promote someone else's financial endeavour. I guess he rubbed off on me.
He NEVER spoke German because he was an American.
The NFL can go eff themselves.

    skfullen,

Fwiw, I worn a FORD logo wristwatch because I was given it to wear by the Sales manager at Bluebonnet Ford about 10 years ago.
(He liked my restored F-250 Diesel PU, with the IH engine & simply said, "I think you oughta have one of these." - I said, "Thanks" & he went back to selling FOMOCO cars/trucks.)

Fwiw, my cheap quartz watch keeps near perfect time after all these years, with only an every other year battery change.

    yours, satx

I meant no offense. I was referring to the practice of paying high-dollar for garments with the logo of companies with ideaoligies which conflict with mine.
I.E., Nike. After the Kneeler incident I will never buy a product sporting the "swoop".
I won't be buying, or wearing, anything NFL. Or ANFL (anti-national football league).

    skfullen,

IF I'm going to advertize for a company (as I AM for BluebonnetFord), i think that them giving me a premium is quite appropriate.
(You would be surprised to know how many people have noticed it. = The watches were intended to be "awards for salesmen". )

NO offense intended & NONE taken, either.

    HAVE a BLESSED 4th, too.

I'm done with ALL the sports. Thought I'd be a lifelong Spurs fan from SA, but I think I'll just enjoy the beautiful game in my memory and all the pro-sports can die as far as I'm concerned. They have lost their way. The NBA because of all the misguided virtue signalling, but the NBA especially for being such kiss-ups to the Chinese.

I gave up watching sports on TV after the NFL decided to cave to disrespecting the flag and the NBA siding with China. I was sure the others would kneel to the demands of the left and I didn't need another reason raise my blood pressure.
