beautiful day to coat some boolits since amazon requires none of my product today.

going to set the oven out and warm up some boolits while I find out what to do next!

I cast about 300 40s, about 125 450s, and about 180 45s this weekend. Powder coated all the 40s and 450s this weekend. Coated the 40s in black and blue Sunday. Coated the 45s in a custom "purple crunch berry" that had tones of blue and red. No pics of the 45s yet as I just did them tonight.

Played with colors again on the 450s. Blue with black marbling and black with phantom red.

I’m ashamed to post pics of mine yet.

    maybe tomorrow.
    We all started somewhere.

I have a bunch of Amazon gift cards saved up from this gas app so I bought some stuff today. Ordered a Lee auto breech lock pro press, scope covers, a brass catcher, and some trimmer pilots. Thinking I might pickup a neck turning tool as well. Weird how when I do t have money I want lots of stuff but when I have money I do t know what to get...

Gave my auto breech lock pro away. Very unhappy with it. Amazon purchase so you can return it in first 30 days so make sure you evaluate it fast. My take of it.
I have a Lee classic Turret, mounted on table with Lee mounting plates. Put this breech lock pro in same spot and it won't fit. Primer drain tube hits table so you have to take a big chunk of table out to fit press in.
Plastic parts on case feeder. If you ever double feed it warps and then you can't feed cases again.
The bushings on mine were machined so poorly that I had to send them back to Lee to replace.
No way can you ever get the auto bullet feeder to work. Don't even try.
The auto case feeder is okay until the plastic on the press warps. Then the case feeder doesn't work.
I was so frustrated that I offered a free giveaway and someone paid postage and I shipped.
Go Hornady or Dillon or something else. You will spend more but be so much happier.
Save the box and all the parts as Amazon return is pretty good.

I knew about the case feed issues going into it. I don't plan to size or prime on press. I am currently loading 223 on a pro1000 3 station and the. Still go back with a crimp die on a single stage because I can't use a collet crimp die on that press due to the design of it.

I size all on a single stage, do all my trimming and case prep, a second tumble to remove case lube, all my brass trimming and prep work, then Hand priming. After that they'll go to the ABLP. The ABLP press is 4 stations for lyman M-die (to flare for flat base bullets), powder die, seating die, and collet crimp die.

I don't know of any particular problems with the new style case feeder but I've used it on my pro1000 just fine for a few thousand rounds and I do still have the old style as well. It sounds like the problem is just that plastic cover.

The only Lee press I ever used was a Pro 1000 that I got used for $25 with a spare tool head and spare carrier. Maybe the new ones are better, but I spent far more time tweaking and fixing than I ever did reloading.
I only know of 1 guy that likes the Pro 1000's, and I'm pretty sure he has multiples.

This may work for you. I have a Lee Classic Turret and a Lee single stage and can interchange them on the same mounting plate but couldn't do that with the Breech Lock pro because of the primer tube design. I liked the case feed until the orange plastic on the breech lock pro warped and then you could no longer feed a case as the spring feeder would hesitate at the warp and then jump the case forward. If I go progressive it will be Dillon. Like my classic Turret, slow but works.

Less filling = more feet up!

Cast a hundred or so bullets with the 40 and 454 2 cavity molds and a few hundred 45 and 22 with the 6 cavity molds. The little 22s are cute. They sure go fast, too. Started mixing some powder coat colors and made a.nice purple and really dark green. Gas checked about 140 of the 454s. Powder coating later this week. View attachment 213075

    Last week I figure I've PC'd 1500 9s which means I've cast 3000.

I guess it's time to start loading some.

I'm choking down down my coffee so I can meet Cody Harris for shooting this morning.

Got pics of your portable table? I was thinking of doing that as well but flat ran out of steam.

Decided to use a FA platinum table as the base, because that was easier and just as cheap after buying all the bits/pieces for a workmate-based solution.

I’m usually a strong mount fan, but if I had to do it over again, I’d probably pass, because the setup is pretty damn heavy.

I don't anticipate loading enough 450, 454, 460, or 40cal to justify the need for the larger mold. 9 and 45, definitely. 224, sure why not. But the others are too hard on me to want to shoot more than a few handfuls of rounds at a time.

I can't seem to get the pics of the 454s I coated to upload anymore. Tapatalk rejects almost every picture I try to post because I won't buy the pro version. This app sucks now.

Can’t you remove the strong mount r is it not worth the time/trouble & would sit too low?

I thought about it after you posted that pic and I thought I’m not even going to price that; it’s much easier to shop vac the bench after the mess is made!

    thanks for the pic

The strong mount is removable, I just like the press being located more towards the center of the table than hanging off the edge.

The FA table is $170; the side shelves fold down and legs collapse together so I can throw it a closet and not take up too much room.

I set up my second LNL powder dispenser(for pistol calibers)except powder drop measurement only to find I still had ~120 PC’d boolits to size before loading any rounds to try out! Tomorrow.

Boxing up rounds. Tried to pull some culls but can't figure and the small collet for the 223s. Tried using the shell holder but it's screwing up the rims so that's off the table. I ordered a new set of collets. Will pull them next week.
