    Has anyone successfully used their vet-marked TX driver license to prove veteran status at, say, Lowe's to sign up for their vet discount, or maybe bypassing the need to sign up? - instead of bringing them a DD214 like I did.

    Veteran status is reflected on my Lowe's Personal (not Commercial one) account (online it states: Military Discount/Status Verified) and the discount has been applied automatically upon checkout for quite a few years now in both Texas and Arkansas.

    When I first applied they would not take anything but the DD-214

    I'm going on the 13th anniversary of my being retired from the military, and I get a disability rating letter from the VA every year...
    I also receive it every January like clockwork. Sometimes I misplace it. But I have always been able to get a copy of it using the DS Logon.

    I got my VA ID Card today in the mail. It only took them 7 months to get it to me, I applied for it on July 4 2017. Woopee.

    My dad is in the same boat as yours and his drivers license is marked veteran and it’s all he needs to get discounts.
    Just check the box next time you get a new DL or pay the extra $10, the wait time at the DMV is free........"}

    DL is marked Veteran. Never had an issue anywhere.

    That worked for me for a long time, then Lowes started sending me notices I needed to update my info. Customer service wouldn't help, they said I had to go to the (third party) website. I explained I really didn't like entering personal info in websites, they said they couldn't help.

    I ended up going and checking the website out to keep the discount. They wanted info off the DD-214, but nothing with personal info. Just dates and such that couldn't be used to steal any info from me so I did it.

    So far, that's been the only time my DL didn't work.

    The State of Texas upon presentation of a DD 214 will will put Veteran on you drivers license. I also have a VA card, Military retired ID.
