One thing that kinda pisses me off is overt beer snobbery. You like a fruity or a expensive beer, fine. Don’t go for a basic Bud/Miller/Coors because you dislike the flavors, okay. But don’t knock a guy who rolls in and offers y’all a cold Busch or Lone Star. Nothing wrong with those beers...I’ve seen it happen more than a few times at friendly gatherings, and it ain’t cool. I’m not saying to take a free beer you don’t like, I’m saying just be polite. Don’t be the asshat who says “you drink that pisswater” and embarrass the guy who did nothing more than offer a bro a brew.

kinda like the coffee snobs who only want an overpriced Starbucks or some gourmet coffee, and turns their nose up at a simple cup of diner joe...again, it’s about respecting the other guys choice of what to drink...

    okay, end of rant..

Excellent point. I agree. The only free beer I turn down is Budweiser. it gives me the shits!

Go spend a week on Cat Island, Bahamas or a week in San Pedro, Belize.
You get what you get. It's called beer. It has alcohol in it. You look out at the Caribbean and think, "this is good".
After all, it tastes like beer, and it does the mellow.
Kalik, Belikin. They're real good, if that's where you are.
    Worth every cent.
    Good point.

Small island. They only had one beer to offer. I did my part spending plenty of my hard earned bills.

    That vacation was surreal.

Hah! Whenever we meet at the "Boat" here in Kerrville (infrequently these days) we give each other great amounts of chit no matter what they are drinking!! But, nobody cares 'cause we've been meeting there for years and ignoring others badmouthing our beer choices. And nobody, absolutely nobody gets fired up about anything. Great fun and we're working on organizing a day of choice. One of our beer club members and a member of this forum, MikePotts can usually only come on Tuesdays so we usually meet then.

I like most lagers and some dark beers. What I want to know is how the brewers keep a brand's flavor stable over the years. Seems the natural variation in ingredients would make it hard to do.
Not a fan of the over priced 'craft' stuff that dominates the store coolers these days. I want my beer factory made by good machines.

While I think some parts of brewing is an art, the process is definitely a science. Specific gravity, temps for adding certain ingredients, length of boils, temps for fermentation etc. Brewers either have a lab on hand or send samples to a lab. A snob that doesn't understand the process may turn their nose up to miller lite but others can appreciate the skill and science it takes to produce a consistent light lager. A beer style that does not hide flaws in the brewing process. I don't know your definition of "craft" but most use good machines.

This is part of Deschutes brewery bottling line. They can bottle the average persons life time beer consumption in 30 minutes. The also have a in house lab that other breweries send samples to for testing.
